To me this is akin to saying that too many brushes are shipped with the
graphics package because your computer is too slow.

We shouldn't be decreasing functionality if after ~5+ years of shipping
that functionality we receive one user complaint.  If everyone was seeing
the slowdown, that'd be different.  I certainly haven't seen inkscape crash
due to font selection.

One easy way forward would be to adjust the font meta to only carry roman
character fonts and move the non-roman characters to a fonts-extra
package.  That would at least help the user's complaint.  Still, just
uninstalling the font meta would be a better solution for the user.  That
solution would keep the cross-cultural abilities of the distro.

  A user reported this issue the Ubuntu Studio contact mail, and I found it was 
a fair point.
  We should minimize the fonts we distribute to an amount which is reasonable.
