At the moment there are about ~1200 font families active by default. Its
never a problem to me, but I agree it's a lot. I use exclusively the
ubuntustudio font-collection in my graphics. Hence, I have spent a few
hours organizing the font-library shipped with ubuntustudio. I separated
all the title/poster/illsutration fonts from the more... "serious"
fonts? :)

However, If this filtering is of any use to anyone, please let me know
how to share it.

Title:
Amount of fonts distributed are too many - brings down loading time
  for applications

Status in Ubuntu Studio:
  New

Bug description:
A user reported this issue the Ubuntu Studio contact mail, and I found it was
a fair point.
We should minimize the fonts we distribute to an amount which is reasonable.
