Hi, today I was reading eclipse documentation and exploring some plugins
hoping to find previous experiences but ... nothing! (I can not belive that
we are the first boys with this problem).
About A and B alternative, have you try them? Do they work?
Yes they both work; and they are both the same amount of work for the
english locale.
The thing is the english locale is now a dream to work on; and I hate
the idea of translators (already a rare breed) being asked to edit a
bunch of xml files by hand ...
I think that decides it for me; alternative A is *so* much easier:
- easier when when writing online help (no english names to keep track of)
- easier when preparing for release (export as html; fix new line
characters, commit)
There are two downsides:
- the context sensitive stuff (this is a future pipe dream; taking
several weeks to clean up the code with formal identifiers); we should
ignore this one until we care
- the ability to quickly switch between English / Italian / French
versions of the same page
(note this ability is only for translators; end users do not get these
links)
