This thread has lots of valid claims on the issues of
gamma/linearity/sRGB. Like Greg mentioned, UFRaw should be able to
create a linear output and let color management translate it to sRGB.
Yet it seems that we are missing something to make it happen. The
"problem" is that with the current gamma/linearity I'm getting very
satisfying results, so I don't have much incentive to "fix" it.

Yet all this has nothing to do with the original mail by Hadmut that
started this thread. UFRaw should be able to save per camera settings
regardless of the gamma issue. Actually there is a group of setting
that is regarded as "camera settings" and all these settings should be
saved per camera.

This could be implemented independently of the gamma issues.
