That's your prerogative, I'd just like to ask you not toteach others to do so.

Never. Not a chance. No way. Ever.Standards and specifications are there to
make thingsCONSISTENT and EASY, not to be ignored.
And by the way, if you use /usr/local, you will be unable touse sparse zones,
because they correctly mount /usr read-onlyfrom the global zone.
You can of course side-step that, but doing so is hacking thesystem, which
isn't even close to CMMI level 2 or above.
