I'll chip in my 2 cents for what it's worth, I don't see the firmware patch readme suggesting it will address any of your clients issues.
AFAIK the usb disk though to windows desktop session is only sorted with SRS 5 and that only runs on Solaris 10. In addition to the caution's those before me have mentioned.
