Ordinarily I would strongly recommend Speakeasy DSL (if that will provide
enough bandwidth). It's not quite as cheap as Verizon, but generally you
get a whole lot more (more reliability, MUCH better tech support, MUCH
better terms of service). However, Speakeasy was just purchased by Best
Buy, so I can't tell you whether their awesome service will continue or
not. It might be worth a look, in any case.
One thing to be careful about generally is terms of service (TOS) vs. what
you're interested in doing. If you want to run any sort of server, for
example, that's a violation of the TOS for almost any residential connect,
except for a few cool providers like Speakeasy.
