No vote was taken on the proposal to create a dog park. The FOCP Board won't take action on any proposal until such time they get a report from the Planning Bommitee. There was a motion passed to encourage all dog owners to properly license and leash their dogs.

There was also agreement that FOCP should ask UC DOG to help organize the dog owners in the park.

As for the motion to ask the City of Philadelphia to create a dog park. Previously, the Board referred the Dog Committee report to the Planning Committee. That committee in turn created two working groups - one to study the feasibility of creating a dog park, and another to study the feasibility of fencing the children's playgrounds. The Dog Park working group did not have a report for the Board, the 'fencing the children' group reported what they had learned so far. Neither working group has a deadline to report.

while i don't have an opinion on board members recursing themselves, i
do think everyone has an interest, whether you have a child, dog, cat,
squirrel, goldfish, etc.� it's a community park and we all should have a
say in how it's used.

i agree with bruce.� it would be great if we could keep this discussion
from becoming personal, as seems to be the case for many discussions in
the hood.� at the end of the day we're still all neighbors.� if we can't
work out these local issues amongst ourselves without personal attacks,
how can we ever expect our country to work out issues in a reasonable way.

hopefully mr roger's hood can be in disagreement without disenfranchisement,
