I asked, because I discovered that the pop/cracking noise nearly dissapeared when I moved the USB connections on the hub around. I had to put the USB sound card on the last slot, and the power line on one of the first. Also see 'this thread' (http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=11281#p230952).. But probably this info is of no use for you.. :-(
