With Quartz Extreme enabled it will certainly be noticeable, but as Liam says, not dramatic. Bear in mind that the card is designed 'ideally' for B&W G3s and Yikes! PCI G4s. It will run at 66MHz but the 8500 (in fact all old World Macs) have only has a 33HMz bus which will bottleneck things a bit.
