How closely is any OS X install tied to the hardware? My dilemma is this: I have OSX running on my upgraded 7600 on an ATA disk. I just got a Beige G3, that will be upgraded to a G4/450.
Doesanyone know what will happen is I just plop the drive into the newmachine? Does the OSX install leave out stuff or is it like the old 'universal install' a system that'll run on any Macintosh? (I suppose I can just try it and see...though I'm mainly concered about trying to get my new system working reliably after the transfer, with all my files and preferences and such intact.)
