Thanks to all who replied to my questions. I'm reconsidering whether I want to try to get this machine ready for X or whether to go for a used B&W G3 or older G4. I think, by the time I get all the necessary hardware, I may end up spending close to what one of the above-mentioned used machines will cost. (I'm also using an old pivot monitor that I also think I'd have to replace--had a hard enough time finding drivers to work w/OS 9). Besides, my daughter would love it if I got a new machine and gave her the 9650, not to mention I'd get to use the computer more. ;-) Once again, thanks to everyone, RJay "Business relationships - like all relationships - must have a basis of trust to succeed.
