After moaning about performance at the beginning I can say it's not so bad at all even without video card and with 1 GB HD on 400MHz G3 7500/256 MB/10.2.4 (prices are a bit different in "this part of world"). But responsivnes has it's limits. Rainbow wheel comes time to time and I was not doing any longer serious work on it as I do o OS 9 so it's early for me for final thoughts yet. I suppose that VPC would not be usable on such machine.

Frantisek,

Don't even thing about VPC, college has VPC (XP pro) running on 12" P/[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mhz w/ 768 MB RAM and whilst it works and is quite usable it is slow. I am still waiting for M$ to release VPC for the G5 so I can see how it runs there but true to form they are dragging their toes.....

I have run VPC on G3 300 upgraded 9600 under OS9 and yeah it works but is also sluggish. I actually haven't booted it under X on this box so cannot report performance (or lack of)

You would get way better performance by buying a cheap second hand PIII. IMHO

Cheers

Simon
