Seems like a reasonable stopping point. I'm overclocking the chip by 3.5%
because I can't set it to exactly 450. To get another 5% I'd have to
overclock it by 1/9th (about 11%).

Given that it runs pretty hot already, I think I'll stick with a nice safe
3.5% overclock. I'm already looking for a good way to fit an extra fan in
there... there isn't much clearance so I can't just stick a CPU muffin on
top.

Anyway, the point is that the OWC chip IS an outrageously good deal. :)

Agreed on all accounts. Conventional wisdom says that a 25% speed increase is needed to barely notice it, so a 3.5-11% increase isn't going to be noticeable (unless you are doing multi-hour renders) and is a risk to overheating the CPU. Years ago I overclocked all the time (best ones were 604e/225 to 270 MHz, G3/220 to 300 MHz, and G3/350 to 466 MHz- all PowerLogix) but this small of an increase is probably not worth it, especially at that steal of a price.

Enjoy!
