ok then . . . . i probably don't know what i'm talking about, but i think video card compatibility might be machine dependent. for instance, i have a umax s900 clone which came with a factory IX Micro TT128 card in it, but folks in another group to which i subscribe (supermacs) say that the IX Micro cards won't work with panther (for sure) and not with any version of OS X (i think).

this is not the only case of machine dependent compatibility issues i have heard of, either. i know for sure that the sonnet cressendo processor upgrade cards are compatible with OS X so long as it is installed in an apple box, but if you put the cressendo processor in one of the clones, xpostfacto fails when trying to install OS X.

you might need to take this into consideration this if you have one of the clones.
