I have an IX Micro TT128 card driving a second monitor at work. It worked seamlessly w/Jaguar. You are right, in that it is unsupported under Panther. However, it will work with a minor hack through the terminal. The kicker is you need a supported card to connect a monitor to so you can use the terminal. Since I'm using the TT128 for a second monitor, I already have my main monitor running off the stock card the machine came with, so I have a usable monitor when the machine boots up. <snip>

I guess it's a good thing I pulled the TwinTurbo from my Panther'ed B&W to use in another machine, then. I might have had real problems if Blue had heard that he's not supposed to use it....;^)

I just went through this trying to install 10.3 on my 9600. I finally succeeded by using the "Allow Old NDRVs" or whatever the checkbox is on XPostFacto.

The only video card I've had real probs with in Panther is a Voodoo3 3000; TwinTurbos and ATI Mach64's have both worked great for me, at least for driving second monitors. Then again, I've only tested them in a PowerCenter Pro and Blue. Panther could be rather fussy about certain cards in certain systems...?

So I guess the OS X video card question isn't easily answered.
