I already run 10.2.8 on a P4/2Ghz box using pearPC.. sound and networking
are a little off but it runs great as an emulated 750 Mhz/G4...
Is that measured or nominal speed?
If measured that's way better than I'd have expected.
Is it really a G4? Does it implement Altivec?
What display driver do you use?
Wasn't OSX originally written for the x86 architechure (NextOS ??)
My NeXTstation has a 68030 in it (it's roughly equivalent to a Performa 475!).
NeXTSTEP was compiled for 680x0, x86, HPPA and Sparc. Most binaries
were compiled "quad-fat" to run on all platforms. There is a naming
convention in the NeXT world for including the platforms in the install
file name. CraftMan.2.0.47.NIHS.b.tar.gz is a example with "N" for
NeXT, "I" for Intel, "H" for HPPA and "S" for Sparc.
I have three NeXT Cubes (1 Turbo Dimension, 1 Dimension and 1 68030 with
optical drive) three NeXTstations, three NeXTstation Turbo's, one
NeXTstation Color and one NeXTstation Color Turbo. I also have two
Canon object.station 41's (Intel based NeXT machine) and have ran NS3.3
on Sparcstation 5-110mhz models.
