Anyone tried using a Sonnet ATA/100 IDE PCI card in an 8500 or 9500 (or similar), and noticed any conflicts? 1. OS X 10.3.9 system freeze when ATA/100 attached Seagate 80GB used in conjunction with an M-Audio 2496 PCI sound card 2. Slows down system performance. 3. Audio stutter/failure in an 8500 under Jaguar when used with an M-Audio 2496 card. Any known fixes? I cannot use the latest M-Audio driver due to OS X 10.3.9 startup problems (crashes with any version greater than 1.2.1). Can I use an ATA100 driver from another company, that might fix the problem? other fixes?
You might try the equivalent Acard ATA-133 card (6280M). The Sonnet cards tend to have more compatibility problems than the Acards. The Sonnet cards seem to do something funny with their firmware that makes them look like two separate cards in the Device List.
