One thing- I'm assuming that it's PC100 RAM rated at 8ns of better.
You didn't mention the flakiness following the RAM at all but I'm
just making sure. I've had 10ns RAM rated at PC100 not work in some
B&Ws. They are pickier about RAM than either the Beiges or the
Sawtooths and later.
Oh really? That is interesting to know!
Per Apple, for the B&W, compatible DIMMs must be:
PC-100 or PC-133 Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) <- Intel's "standard"
3.3v, 8 ns (125 MHz), 64-bit wide, 168-pin, *unbuffered* only.
Speed codes (latency):
3-2-3 (slowest), 3-2-2, or 2-2-2 (fastest).
Column address strobe: Lower the CAS (CL) rating is better.
Apple doesn't specify this, but most vendors offer CL2.
Min of 4 and max of 16 memory devices on the DIMM!
Max capacity of 256 MB per DIMM.
Max height 2.0 inches.
Qualified geometries:
64 Mb technologies for 32, 64, and 128 MB DIMMs.
128 Mb technologies for 128 and 256 MB DIMMs.
Do NOT use:
Parity, ECC, registered or buffered SDRAM DIMMs.
256 Mb technology, 32-bit wide, EDO or FPM.
