A bit off topic, but it is about old hardware.

I have a b & w G3 with the stock video card (ATI Rage 128?). I've been looking at some cheap 19-inch wide screen monitors that have a native resolution of 1440 x 900. I suspect the current video card won't support that resolution. Does anyone know if that's the case?

ViewSonic has one that sells for $220 - $280 (depending on where you shop). What puzzles me is this part of the specs:

Compatibility (PC): VGA up to 1440x900 non-interlaced
Compatibility (Mac): Power Mac" G3/G4/G5 up to 1152x870 (adapter may be required)

FWIW, I just today got an Acer 19" Widescreen monitor, when plugged in the my system, it autodetected it as 1320 x something, a really odd size, but 1440x900 was in the list and it worked just fine. (This was with an original Mac Radeon card)

BTW this was $185 at Buy.com <http://tinyurl.com/z8qq4> a sweet deal. I got it with the free shipping, they spec 5-8 days, I got it in two.
