Doh! My wife bought me one for Father's Day at Best Buy. A Mag
Innervision (I believe... some relatively cheap brand). She paid $250
for it. :-(
It came up w/a weird resolution on boot up too, but it had 1440 x 900 @
60Hz as an available resolution. Strangely, after I selected that
resolution, 1440 x 900 @ 75Hz showed as a choice so I set it to that
higher refresh rate.
I was able to calibrate it to a good neutral gray so I should be able
to do decent color work on it, which is the main concern I had about
going with a cheaper monitor (it calibrated and has better color
display than my wife's iBook). I'm really happy with it! And it's
running on the Rage 128 card.
BTW, I ordered a dual 1.25GHz MDD G4 from Surplus Computers -
http://www.surpluscomputers.com this past Tuesday for $849 w/free
shipping! That's one of the best deals I've seen on these. 160GB hard
drive, 512MB RAM and a Superdrive. If anyone on the list has been
thinking about something like that, this is a great opportunity!
Disclaimer: I never even heard of Surplus Computers before finding this
thru DealMac.com last week (LEM has it listed in best G4 deals too).
Just pointing out a great deal to the list members.
I should receive it next week sometime. (I can hardly wait.)
