Today's not really my day. Scratch all I wrote above and let's start again:
I've typed in a fck edit field (text image component) the "Anöes" and then ran few different searches: sql escaped: select * from nt:base where contains(.,'Anöes') ... success xpath escaped: //*[jcr:contains(.,'Anöes')] ... success (previously someone changed it under my hands ... so much for running tests on public demo) sql not escaped: select * from nt:base where contains(.,'Anöes') ... no results xpath not escaped: //*[jcr:contains(.,'Anöes')] ... no results so yeah, while having to convert all chars to entities sucks as such, I think it is pretty consistent. When you run the tests, do you execute it directly in the code or via groovy or did you run them via Tools/JCR Query?
