To answer the original question: - the artefacts are available in the maven repository. Please see http://nexus.magnolia-cms.com/index.html#nexus-search;gav~~magnolia-core~4.5.17~~ or if you want http://nexus.magnolia-cms.com/content/repositories/magnolia.public.maintenance.releases/ where it is physically located (you need to be logged in to nexus to access the url and to see search result in the first link). It is also available in the enterprise repository which is in fact aggregate of few more physical repos (but that is pbly irrelevant to this question): http://nexus.magnolia-cms.com/content/groups/enterprise/info/magnolia/magnolia-core/4.5.17/ Now to answer the follow up questions: There was never intention to sell more licenses by restricting the access, but rather to minimise the maintenance effort. Indeed we make the extra work and there are customers who pay for us to invest resources in maintaining old versions, in exchange for their money, they get the value in form of delivered maintenance releases. This in my opinion doesn't take any value from community users. Please note also that this policy is in place for couple of years already (same was the case for 4.4) and that the switch from public to private maintenance releases is made only after careful consideration and in much more lenient way then what the official maintenance policy states (http://www.magnolia-cms.com/services/support/maintenance-policy.html). The community have always available the latest version of Magnolia and all maintenance releases for this latest version. Our intention is to encourage adoption of the new version once it is stable as we believe that the newest version of Magnolia brings over the greater value over the previous releases and is definitively worth the upgrade effort.
