If I were a CE user I certainly would not like it if Magnolia never fixed any issues brought up by CE users. Of course they'll give issues for EE customers priority, but as a CE user you expect some kind of maintenance support on the product you're using or you'll go look elsewhere. You're confusing policy with reality here. Of course CE users wouldn't be okay with Magnolia ignoring their issues, so there is an extra maintenance effort for Magnolia. By the way, you get the same thing when you deal with other companies. Want to keep using Java 6 after Oracle's end of life date and still receive bug fixes? You can, but not for free, you'll have to get an extended support contract. Does Oracle publicly distribute these bug fixes? Nope. Red Hat has similar policies.
