That's weird, because DELETEs should obviously don't do updates. You're
keeping an mysql log, IIRC? Could you find statements like
'UPDATE.*AND realm=', preferably around or after the time you found
the inconsistency?

If you're going with the old admin site I can recommend multidb vs
sitegroups.
