With respect to bibliography management, completely inadequate. Despite the
fact that I've been using linux exclusively for the last 3 years on my main
system (for all of my work related stuff, including OOo for presentations -
inspite of its serious shortcomings in that area as well), I'm currently
preparing for either a Win4Lin install or a dual-boot setup just to have
Word/Endnote, so that I can write my thesis. And although I played around
with LateX/Lyx for a couple of weeks, trying to learn this beast from hell so
that I might use BibTex, I gave up.
I love OOo. And I would love to use it to write papers.
I guess this brings me to my question. I've been on this list (and the
developers list) for a couple of years, quietly following this project's
progress. However, I'm still at a loss concerning its exact needs. What stage
are we at? And more importantly, what needs to be done, and how can I help?
Many thanks for initiating a project that promises to finally purge M$ from my
system.
Cheers,
Peter
