Elchanan:
We want meaningful tag names (not List1, List2, and other meaningless items), we want only the tag names we intend to use. Why would anyone wish to train people in what not to use, when the choice not to put it there in the first place seems so obvious? This is entirely a design issue.
Launch OOo 3 Writer, then press F11. At the foot of the Styles and Formatting window, choose Custom Styles from the drop-down list.
You can create all your own meaningful paragraph, character, frame, page, and numbered and bulleted list styles, which will show up in this pane. The writers will have to select the Custom Styles pane before applying styles. Presumably, it might be possible to open this dialogue on launch using an OOo script but I am not familiar with the API or scripting, so don't know whether that is possible.
