Word document files is generally very good for most files, though
heavily formatted documents may look different (though that is true from
time to time if you use a different version of Word than the one the
file was originally composed on, or have a different printer installed
than the original author).
Note that Microsoft Word does not open OOo's native format word
processing files (*.sxw), nor would I hold my breath waiting for MS to
add that option <grin>. However, you can set OOo to default to saving
files in *.doc format if you really, really need to keep your files in
that format.
