??? I'm not sure I understand. You say "so is there no way I can send
people open office attachments?" Yes, of course you can. If you save a
file in what is normally the default mode, it will be saved in
OpenOffice format, and you can send those to anyone.
However, if all they have is MS Word, they will not be able to open
them. One option is to suggest that they get OpenOffice. For
compatibility, that would be the best solution. Another option is that
you can save a file in MS Word format (File > Save As, and select MS
Word as the document type from the dropdown menu). Still another option,
if they don't need to edit the file (they either need to just view it,
or print it), is to send the document as a PDF attachment. Virtually
everyone as Adobe Reader on his or her computer, and if a person
doesn't, it can be downloaded for free. So there are basically three
options.
