This issue occurs between different versions of Word. I have heard
enough screams from Word users that have spent hours working on a
document at home on the weekend for Monday morning only to find that it
is now formatted differently in their version of Word at work.
Using ODF and OOo prevents this as one of these users has found out. It
is especially noticeable with graphic placement from what I have been told.
Due to this issue, many here are using LaTeX for their documents.
