Also, when I don't want to use outlines, I can't seem to get it shut off. I try, but if I make a list of things and use numbers for each, it will again default back to using its outline format.

How can I get it to do what I want it to do???

First off, i should warn that you are likely to catch a lot of flak for composing your question as a reply to another thread instead of creating a new thread.

What he has done in changing the subject line of a reply is consistent with the guidelines of this list. Surely no one who has read those guidelines can complain.

Dear Mr. Troll/Idiot,

He changed the subject line but he did not start a new thread. Anyone reading the list in a threaded view sees his subject in the same thread as the original subject. To start a new subject you need to send a new message rather than replying to a previous message and just changing the subject. People refer to this as hijacking a thread.
