That obscure reason is the MAILTO: link on the contact page here: http://www.openoffice.org/contact.html the HTML of which reads <a href="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] YOU MUST GIVE A SUMMARY HERE">users@openoffice.org</a> Using this link is not the source of thread hijacking. It just preloads the subject line, which i question the merits of. If the subject line is left empty then most email clients will prompt for a subject anyway.
