[users] automated color coding of data in a column

I have a column that I have been painfully editing by hand. The column 
has times recorded like : 0723, 1046, 1755, and so on. Im color coding 
the times by hand:

1 = 0500 - 1000
2 = 1000 - 1400
3 = 1400 - 1800
4 = 1800 - 2000
5 = 2000 - 2200

Is there a way that I can automate this?
