Dear sirs, I am a open office user. I face difficulties when transfering
files from Microsoft Office System(M.O.S.). Example in your site when above
email adress is recommended for asking our questions. Other examples are
emails received with attached documents from MOS'. When I try to acess it, a
large blue page comes up in my computer asking for my MOS identifying code
user. Since I am not a user of that I can't read it.
Please me know your suggestion. Do I have to buy this MOS license???
Thanks in advance for your help.

Assuming you have OpenOffice installed, you should be able to open Microsoft Office files, unless those files are in the new Office 2007 format. Check the file extensions for those files. If they end in "X", i.e. .DOCX, then they are created in the new format, which OpenOffice cannot handle. If this is the case, you may wish to install the free Microsoft viewers and compatibility pack, which will allow you to read those files.

Better yet, give OOo 3.0 Beta a try:

http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/

It has built in import filters for MSO 2007.
There is also the option of downloading from http://go-oo.org
This variant of the OpenOffice.org code base also offers some amount of MSO 2007 file compatibility and a few other file formats that OO.o 3.0 does not offer - not to mention it is just plain faster overall then the vanilla OO.o binaries. ( although the 3.0 release is picking up some of the enhancements )
