Those are the numbers as collected by and made available from OO.o stats project. The number is not really that surprising - economies of scale in a global market is an awesome power to content with. There is another factor here though that needs to be kept in mind - these numbers are generated by downloads initiated from download.openoffice.org - if a file download is initiated directly from a mirror server it will not be included here.
