I haven’t noticed any problems using CalDAV on iOS. There were some issues in the past, but these have been resolved (e.g. http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2978 <http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2978>) - have you tried recent builds?
