We use Sogo with Mailcow and if EAS is realy dropped i hope that Mailcow
integrate Zpush in the System in the same quality as they integrate all
other stuff that is needed for a good Mailsystem.

Betreff Re: [SOGo] SOGo 6 no Activesync
Hi,
After reading the thread by Alexander Ebner, I also found that dropping EAS
support
is a bad idea for mobile devices.
EAS caused so many problems in the past, especially with Outlook that I
really
appreciate the announced MAPI over HTTP support.
But this can't replace the mobile support, as EAS also has functions like
accepting
meeting invitations etc., which may not be possible with CalDav/CardDav and
IMAP
separate integration, for instance.
In fact I tried to avoid EAS in Outlook and resort to IMAP whenever
possible, but many
features i.e. around appointments won't work with that way, CalDav
Synchronizer is even
worse than EAS, so I had to stick with it, having weekly complaints by users
about
synchronization issues etc. approx. on a weekly basis.
But for mobile devices, I don't see any alternative.
Since recent iOS versions on iPhone, IMAP support is completely broken on
iPhones too,
so I had to migrate von IMAP to EAS, even though I didn't want that at all.

So I also definitely want to see EAS support in SOGo 6, even though I hate
that protocol
a lot.
One way I may be able to at least get a somewhat working implementation
would be to use
Z-Push with CalDAV and CardDAV backend, which proved to be quite OK (at
least with Zarafa server),
it's also extensible with its backends to integrate it tightly with SOGo, if
needed.
That would be my emergency-strategy for mobile device support with SOGo 6
and maybe a
working code base for an EAS integration with SOGo 6.
