Yes, there are a lot of files to keep track of, but it really depends on the webapp. It will store the timestamps for all .jar files in the WEB-INF/lib directory, any .class file in WEB-INF/classes, plus anything you've added under a <WatchedResource>. > But maybe it was done that way /precisely/ to avoid the issue I mentioned.
