I don't take decisions alone but I'd vote -1 for 1.4.x. 1.4.x is the stable version and I don't want to compromise it with feature that is neither a regression nor a security hole. Please port the patch to 1.5/trunk and then we can talk about adding it in early 1.5.x versions.
1.5-RC1 will be re-released in the next 24 hours. Please test it and file tickets for regressions. As soon as we release it we will have time to add new features. Thanks!
