Anyway, in that debug output, there's nothing indicating that the problem is actually the USRP, and not e.g. a connection breakup by the virtualizer. Can you try with a native client, e.g. Putty? I must admit that your usage of a virtual machine, together with the limited Linux experience, might be adding a lot of variables to this system that might make things unnecessary hard to work with for you.
