I was the founder of the BYU Magicians club and president for the first year
(we're the ones who do the magic shows here on campus). The main reason for
leaving the club (it's still going strong) is because 1) I got involved with
the UUG and 2) BYUSA. The politics and hoops we had to jump through were
horrible. The thing is there is a difference between the Magicians club and
the UUG. They do shows on campus, fund raisers, service projects, etc, so they
really do need the funds and access to equiptment that BYUSA offers. The
only real thing we need as the UUG is a place to hold our meetings and
installfests. Maybe I could have the magicians reserve us a room every Thursday
night for next semester. ;-)
