Okay, catching up on some email, I took a count.

Clubs who have issues with / left (and it was a good thing) BYUSA:

1 - Unix Users Group
2 - Magicians Club
3 - Sailing Club
4 - yMac
5 - Other Club Ben Smith is in charge of
6 - Mu Sigma Rho
7 - Country Dance
8 - Every club president anyone has talked to

I think this is a very serious issue. It's obvious that BYUSA is not
achieving what it is supposed to do (okay, maybe it is supposed to be like
this, you never know). As an officer last year, I was present when we tried
to politely address some issues and even offer our assistance with computer
related things that they were backlogged with to show our willingness to work
together. (Did anything ever come of that, or where we just patted on the
back and sent our merry way?)

I feel that we were given a crafted speech that changes where being made and
things were going to be better. Nothing that I saw at the bi-weekly I went
to was really of any use. It was just more hoops we had to jump and ways
they were going to "check up" on us (sounded more like babysitting). Yes
that's right, the head that peaks into UUG meetings that looks around and
then disappears is probably the BYUSA "checking up" on us to make sure we
reserved the right size room for the amount of people there.

With a new University President coming on board, this may open an opportunity
for something to be done. IMO, we should try to work with the BYUSA and do
everything we can before totally getting rid of them and finding
alternatives. But on the other hand, I feel like we have done that already.

Just my two slips of gold pressed latinum.
