        I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but maybe what
you're looking for is simply an X-server for windows.  There is a simple
one called MI/X, and one that I like called X-Win32.

        ssh into your server with X forwarding enabled, and you're set.  You
can now run any X program you want.  With X-Win32 you can have a single
window or you can use rootless mode.  With a single window, you probably
will want to run a window manager in it.
