If there is a fire in my house, I think I might have bigger problems than some flames/fumes from the cat5 cable. Additionally, I would venture that in this guys $190.00/mo. apt. there are plenty of other nice hazards which pose a much higher risk of putting him in imminent danger than the fumes off this non-plenum CAT5 *while it's burning*. ;) but hey, just do whatever will let you sleep OK at night. I will be interested to see what he ends up buying.
