I personally don't have a problem with Visa providing a service for a fee. It costs money for Visa to run their system and they do it well. Last time I purchased groceries, I swiped my Visa debit card and waited 10 seconds while the store's computer contacted a Visa system and obtained an approval code, setting asided the specified amount from my checking account and returning the approval code to the store computer. A pretty good system, and worth the money that I pay indirectly through slightly higher prices that my grocer charges to offset the costs associated with accepting Visa cards.

...and, you promote an economy with a 2% sales tax paid to Visa, Corp.

Which is actually fine, and your choice, and not a tremendous impact on the
rest of society. So continue as you were, but make sure you know about the
hidden costs.
