Last year the UUG helped the ASM (another computer organization on campus (I think)) with an installfest. They really enjoyed it and have had a lot of requests for another.
The basic idea is one of the professors in the IT department will give
a lecture on Thursday to get everyone ready and pumped; then on Saturday
they'll come and we'll help them install.
In a lot of ways this will be easier for us than a normal installfest:
1) THERE WILL BE FREE PIZZA AND POP (please don't call it soda :-) )
2) We don't have to have a booth; they'll be doing the advertising
3) They'll provide the CDs
4) They'll get the room and set everything up
So pretty much we'll just go, install Linux, and eat.
There is not a specific date set yet, but it will be one of the first
Saturdays in November.
Should we do it? (i.e. how many UUGers are willing to help out)
