That's one of the things I like about the UUG list.

I don't think the big problem is the topic--I think it's the volume. One
question from a particular person about PHP or CSS is fine--every once in
a while. Talking about the LotR is fine--every once in a while. BarbieOS
is even fine--once in a while. But if a particular person kept posting
BarbieOS comments once a week, people would find it annoying. If a
particular person kept posting LotR tangents once a week, people would
find it annoying.

And if a particular person posts PHP and CSS questions every week, people
find it annoying.
