So, I'm trying to determine the best way to blow my as-of-yet-undetermined-amount of a tax return. I've been thinking about getting a 5.1 or 6.1 sound card, such as the Sound Blaster Audigy 2, and getting a set of corresponding speakers. I was just curious what kind of Linux support existed for said card, or 6.1 speaker systems in general. For instance, will I be able to watch a DVD and get 5.1 sound?
Any insight, as well as personal experience with cards or speakers, would be great.
