I have installed XP SP2 also and have had no problems. Follow John Nielsen's
advice about checking the software incompatibility list (many have
workarounds). Here is the link:

Also, I have read that if you have any ad popup software or other programs
that pop up windows based on words you type in already on your system, you
need to get rid of them before installing SP2 as they may cause problems.
Basically, if you system is running well and virus/popup free, SP2 should
work great and add a lot of much needed security fixes but if you have
problems, solve them first before installing SP2.

I highly apologize for the way way off topic post, but where else can I get
the expert advice available to me on this list. Feel free to hate me for
using windows.
I think I've heard bad things about the new service pack, but incidentily my
windows install started freaking out on me today so I was considering
installing it. Any advice?
