This has probably already been answered, but...

It's really simple.  I pay taxes.  In so doing, I should have some
confidence that, even if my (emphasize *my*) dollars are not going to
something that I 100% agree with, it will at least be something reasonable.
This is not a reasonable use of my money.  There are thousands of
reasonable, educated and competent liberal voices that would do a far better
job of representing the "other side" than Michael Moore.  They would do it
for less money and would be a worthwhile use of the student's time.  I'm all
in favor of hearing the other side, even if it is only with an attitude of
"know thine enemy".  However, this use of *my* money is just plain stupid.
They could have at least tried to find a competent voice of scholarly
respectability rather than a blatant liar.  So, yes, because I am financing
this, I am within my rights to make sure that the event never happens.

How about this-- you get this wonderful state to give me back my forced
contribution to this farce and mockery of scholarship and I'll stop
worrying.  Make sure it's a check sent by the appropriate state official,
please.
